We are the only full service guide service for elk in eastern Kentucky. Elk, bear, spring turkey and predator hunts are our specialties. Cabin rentals are available outside of the mentioned hunting seasons. We offer lodging for off road groups and can help you connect with a guide for off road riding if necessary. The ASPCA is known for those heartbreaking sad-dog commercials with Sarah McLachlan playing in the background, but what do they actually spend the money on? In 2024, the ASPCA reported $446 million in total revenue. They spent about $153 million on salaries, compensation, and employee benefits, and about $79.6 million on fundraising expenses. Meanwhile, their tax filing shows $23.3 million in grants and similar amounts paid out. That means 95% of their spending is on salaries and raising money and 5% of what they brought in is given to projects. Only a small fraction of that 5% went to animal shelters most people think they are helping.

The ASPCA is also an anti hunting organization. ASPCA’s own policy says it opposes sport hunting (whatever that is), even when the animal is eaten. So when people see the sad dog commercials and think their money is going straight to the local shelter down the road, that is not how this works. This is a massive national fundraising machine with anti-hunting policy positions, and before people donate, they should probably understand where the money is actually going.

Tips for hiking in bear country:
#1 carry a firearm. Preferably a 10mm with cast bullets for good pe*******on.
#2 if you see a bear first draw your firearm and yell "go away bear".
#3 put yourself between children and women and the bear. don't run. You may back up while facing the bear if it doesn't leave.
#4 if the bear acts aggressive shoot it.
#5 if it doesn't run away continue to shoot it until it does run away or dies.
#6 call 911 and report the incident.
#7 go home and butcher that bear or take ot to a butcher.
#8 have grilled bear steaks.

Another 2025 hunt to remember this guy's came to camp in shape and could shoot proficiently out to 800 yards with a really cool rifle.

This bull decided to investigate and one shot from the .300 PRC put him down. The pack out wasn't bad either! Bonus!!!
