Local people - here are 3 great ways to play Mahjong and support some great local causes!! 💖🀄️💖 Thanks to all the people who have come to my classes & events this year, I’m delighted to be able to help support these causes (and others) through donated lessons and/or prizes.

=> On Friday, Sept 18 — I’m teaching an absolute beginner class that benefits youth science, technology, engineering & math scholarships at the cool STEMForce Academy in Martinsburg, WV.

=> On Sunday, Sept 27 — Loudoun Cares has a “Sip, Play & Giveback” charity event at Waverly Springs. And, I’m donating an Oh My Mahjong tile set and mat for their raffle/prizes.

=> On Sunday, Nov 8 — The Ryan Bartel Foundation is hosting a charity 🀄️tournament for all levels at the River Creek Club in Leesburg. This Loudoun County organization supports young people’s mental health. I’m donating some beginner training before the event and a full equestrian themed set with tiles, a Year of the Horse mat & all the gear.

Local friends - one of the awesome Mahjong teachers I know - Delmarva Mahjong - is hosting a mindfulness and Mahjong retreat in Ocean City, MD. This sounds amazing. Sharing in case you can make it!

Thank you so much The Hobbies Shop for inviting me to teach Mahjong to the wonderful folks in the Eastern Panhandle. I love being there at the start of people’s Mahjong journey and it’s awesome to see a community start to form!! Shout out to all the quick learners who were lucky enough to get that first Mahjong! 💖🀄️🎉

And, I love that we are going to have a local spot in Charles Town, WV that carries BespokeMahjong and Peace Love Mahjong tiles. Both are so cool and fun to play on.

The Hobbies Shop has teamed up with LoCo Mahjong to offer beginner lessons and opportunities to meet other local players. We are also bringing in beautiful Mahjong sets, tiles, accessories, and other must-haves from Mahjong Studios, Peace Love & Mahjong, and now Bespoke Mahjong!

We are putting together our very first Bespoke order now. If there is a set, tile collection, mat, rack, or accessory you have been eyeing, tell us before we place the order, and we will add it to our order.

Come learn. Come play. Come find your Mahjong people. Fair warning: Once the tiles start clicking, you may be hooked.

Thank you to the fabulous folks at The Hobbies Shop in Charles Town, WV last night! I hope to see you all and anyone else who is interested at the Labor Day Open Play 2pm-4pm. 💖🀄️🎉It’s free and beginners who have had at least one class or know the basics are welcome to attend. While there won’t be any lessons during this play time, I’ll be happy to help answer questions.
