Swanty For School Board

Swanty For School Board Swanty is a long time Lovelander who is committed to making the Thompson School District the gold standard once again.

The Thompson School Board has become a fiasco in recent years. Sides are split, partisan politics and outside influence have become commonplace. Jeff Swanty knows how to work on a successful board peaceably. Three of his children are products of the Thompson Public Schools and now his grandchildren attend. So, it's great to know that Jeff has an actual stake in how well our schools prepare our children. He knows that great teachers are the key and that the atmosphere must be one that not only keeps our current teachers but attracts the best to our district. We as parents and as a community desperately searched for a solution to this situation and we couldn't have found a better candidate. Please help us get Jeff Swanty elected, it will be a big win for TSD, the kids and our community.

He will be hosting a showing of "Selma" which chronicles Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965.

A discussion with Dr. George Stevens about his experience in the civil rights movement will accompany the film.
