I join all of Card Nation in mourning the loss of Kenny Klein. Kenny was a UofL legend and a major presence on the national college sports scene. I give my condolences to all who loved him. He will be greatly missed.

This week, I had the opportunity to tour UofL’s Chilled Water Plant and see updates on the ongoing construction. This innovative project between the University of Louisville and Trane Technologies will upgrade UofL’s central utility plant to deliver up to 12,000 tons of cooling capacity and comfort to our campus while achieving more than a 20% reduction in energy consumption. We’re building UofL’s future now with this initiative, which will support our campus’s infrastructure for decades to come.

Celebrated Louisville Business First’s Power 50 with some of our best Cardinal leaders. It was such an honor to be selected as one of Louisville’s 50 influential leaders alongside UofL Athletics Director Josh Heird, UofL Health CEO Jason Smith, and UofL Board of Trustees members Christopher Dischinger and John Hollenbach.

It was truly an honor to unveil the official portrait of Dr. Beth Boehm who previously served as university provost. The painting will be displayed in Grawemeyer Hall as part of a longstanding university tradition.

Dr. Boehm left a lasting mark on the University of Louisville through her leadership, commitment to academic excellence and dedication to our students, faculty and staff. Although she is stepping down from her current role as dean and vice provost, her contributions helped strengthen our university and will continue to be felt for years to come.

It was exciting to tour the newly renovated Bingham Humanities building! The full modernization includes updates to classrooms, restrooms, lighting, acoustics, security, technology and more. Can’t wait for the Cardinal community to see the improvements and utilize the revamped spaces.

It was great to catch up with longtime friends at the recent UofL Association of Retired Personnel Annual Meeting!

UofL colors well represented at the Braveheart Classic 5K in Trim Ireland where my son finished 10th overall and second in his age group. A beautiful run and a fantastic place to visit.

Great to meet up with Professor Padhraig Fleming Chair of Orthodontics at Trinity College Dublin this morning. Padhraig is doing amazing work and leads a world class residency program.

It was such an honor to meet Senator Mark Daly, Cathaoirleach of the Seanad in Ireland, while visiting my homeland. Senator Daly and I both represent communities of great minds and great students. I hope to see more educational links develop between Ireland and Kentucky in the future. Go Cards!
