Crosby Families,
First and foremost huge shoutout to all of our parent and guardian volunteers. We had another successful color run thanks to our amazing PTSA. All of our participants had a blast! We can’t thank you enough for your kind donations and efforts that will continue to enhance students experiences this year.
As we approach the end of the term and prepare for parent-teacher conferences this week, we want to share how we are partnering with your child to support their ongoing academic growth.
Our teachers and staff is focused on helping students take ownership of their learning through Standards-Based Grading (SBG) and timely, meaningful feedback. When students learn to track their own progress and set personal goals, they build accountability and confidence that last far beyond the classroom.
In preparation for conferences, our teachers are prioritizing prompt gradebook updates and actionable feedback so you and your student have the clearest possible view of their progress. Crosby Nation, tomorrow is the day! Below is a quick review for all students participating in the 2026 Color Run tomorrow:

1.) All students participating in Color Run must wear their White T-Shirt to school tomorrow. Dress down guideline must be followed for those students participating. See guidelines below:
-Shorts/Sweatpants include:
- - Athletic shorts or Sweatpants are approved!
- - No Jean Shorts and No Spandex shorts
- - No holes, no cut offs, and no blue jean material
- - No leggings
- - Shorts may have a small logo or writing in the corner of shorts like a Nike or Adidas logo.
- - No offensive wording or print on shorts or sweatpants will be allowed as listed in the Crosby Student Uniform policy.
2.) Consider wearing old shoes. Although powder should wash out over time, it is not guaranteed to wash out completely.
3.) Water will be available, however make sure and bring your own water bottle
4.) Bus riders may want to pack an extra t-shirt for the ride home

Family Teacher Conference Day Logistics - On the slide deck - click the name of your student’s grade level team to access that team’s Family-Teacher Conference Day sign up sheet. Each team’s teacher leader is also noted.

If your child has an IEP and receives ECE services, your child’s case manager will be contacting on Family-Teacher Conference Day. If you have questions, email your grade level counselor (listed below).

If you would like to conference with your student’s KEY, EXPLORE, or FELD teachers, their emails have been provided for you to reach out to them directly. Please speak with your student or check parent portal to ensure you contact the correct teacher(s).

Crosby Families,
As we build momentum this week, I want to highlight how we measure and support your students’ learning through Standards-Based Grading (SBG).
Our goal with SBG is to bring clarity, transparency, and equity to every classroom. Rather than focusing on simple task completion or speed, SBG provides accurate, actionable feedback that reflects genuine academic growth and skill mastery. When reviewing progress with your student, consider shifting the conversation from points to skills. Try asking them:
"Which learning target are you working on in class right now?"
"Where do you feel strongest, and what step can you take to practice this specific topic?"

Starting tomorrow, PTSA will be set up on the stage in the lunch room for students to get their color run T-shirt & swag (if donation amount qualifies) during lunch. Make sure your student remembers to wear their color run T-shirt (& swag) to school on Friday 9/18!!

Your student must have a $25 donation paid by TODAY 9/14 to collect their color run t-shirt during lunch next week.

You can submit donations AND the permission slip online via each link provided below.

Crosby Families,
Excellence isn’t about giant leaps or overnight transformations—it’s built through the
small, intentional choices we make together every single day. When we practice that
mindset both at home and at school, our ROAR values naturally become daily habits for
our kids.

Thank you for partnering with us every day to make sure our students feel supported,
valued, and ready to learn. We are so grateful for your support in making Crosby such a
great place to be, and we’re looking forward to another fantastic week together!

Open house is this week! We can’t wait to see you Wednesday evening beginning at 6
PM. Your student will have their schedule sent home with them for you to follow it from
class to class throughout the evening. PTSA will have the bookstore open as well for
