Doing a fresh Vegetable Demo on Thursday for a fantastic organization called New Roots that provides fresh Vegetable "shares" to lower income families in the West End and while it may not technically be a "Food Desert", it certainly has it's Food Challenges. Bi-Monthly shares go from $12-$27 dollars every two weeks based on financial need. And I am out there to show people ways to utilize the bounty. Demo is at Lutheran Redeemer Church, 37th and River Park at 4:30.

This was a beautiful Gazpacho I made for a client last night. Cool and slightly spicy made with smoked paprika and a refreshing Cucumber / Avocado salad on top. Delicious!

Spring is in full swing! And roasted Asparagus is the poster child for this fabulous season. This is an amazing way to have it. The asparagus is roasted in the oven with a touch of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and topped with shaved Parmesan a fantastic Poached Egg and Balsamic Vinegar. This Udon Noodle Soup is an awesome example of Japanese Soul Food and one of my personal favorites. I've made a stock of Chicken and Pork and infused it with a little Jowl Bacon for fantastic smokiness. And then added all the classics. A little fish cake, roasted pork shoulder, enoki mushrooms, egg and nori. A more satisfying dish cannot be found.
