RSVP! Link in bio: Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 21, and join us for this year’s Alumni Basketball Games, dedicated to the memory of Henry Walter ’13. This special round-robin, pickup-style event brings together alumni of all ages for friendly competition, connection, and celebration—whether you plan to play or cheer from the stands.

This year’s alumni basketball game is dedicated to the memory of our beloved classmate and friend, Henry Walter ’13. A lifer at Collegiate, Henry was a passionate basketball player and fan whose love for the game began at Collegiate. He continued that passion at Butler University, where he proudly served as a member of the women’s basketball practice squad.

In March 2024, Henry’s life took a sudden turn when he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He faced this ten-month battle with extraordinary courage and grace, becoming one of the first patients to participate in a phase-one investigational trial at Duke University’s Tisch Brain Tumor Center, bravely contributing to the search for a cure.

Henry passed away on December 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and love. In honor of Henry and his family, we will dedicate this year’s alumni basketball game to his memory and to all those who knew and loved him.

Whether you’re ready to lace up or simply want to gather in support, we invite all alumni to attend and help celebrate Henry’s life and the enduring Collegiate spirit.

A quick note of thanks from our Head of School, Dr. Rob Macrae!

Dear Collegiate Community,

As we head into Thanksgiving break, I want to express my gratitude for each member of our Collegiate community. The joy and connection we felt today with so many Grandparents and Special Friends filling our campus beautifully reflect the spirit of belonging that makes Collegiate such a special place.

May this Thanksgiving bring you moments of rest, reflection, and celebration with those you love most. Please click here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZqMKRsvEcE) to enjoy a delightful performance from our first graders singing “Albuquerque Turkey.”

From all of us at Collegiate, we wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Warmly,

Dr. Robert P. Macrae
