WE ARE CLOSING. With gratitude and a sense of completion, I am writing to share that I've decided to close the Braverie/Trauma Camp business. This was not an easy decision, but a culmination of years of entrepreneurial exploration and soul-searching.
When I first began working on Braverie (then Trauma Camp) in 2016, I was full of fire and a deep commitment to bringing trauma-informed care into the world. It felt like my life's true purpose. I dove in head-first, pouring myself into building a training program that would literally change the course of people's lives and careers.
But after running two businesses (including my private practice) squarely focused on trauma for the last several years, I've felt the fire dim and that early passion dwindle. Its been alarming to have invested so much of my time, spirit, energy, money and belief into something, only to find myself wanting to walk away—especially when its something I am good at and have had great success in.
Suffice it to say, it was very difficult to accept this internal change and to allow myself this decision. Now that I have, I feel completion and relief.
This feels like a good Goodbye. I birthed something, nurtured it, shared it with the world and grew alongside it. It was one of the great loves of my life. I feel like I am wrapping my arms around the gift this business has been, kissing it on the cheek, and waving with a loving smile as I drive into this new season.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. I am so proud of the impact we had together—thousands of educators reached and students helped in new, supportive, and healing ways. We did that. I did that. I am so proud of US.
Important Details:
My website, braverie.com, will remain active until September 2025, after which it will be taken down. For any questions or inquiries, you can message me here.
The Braverie training course will be put on the shelf, but I remain open to how it might find new life in the future.
A Note on the Future:
The space that comes with this closure now opens me up to the unknown. While I still get to work with private practice clients that I love, my soul is also hungry for creation... and I’m ready to feed it. I notice parts of myself that I’ve been disconnected from returning—parts that love art, performance, singing, writing, design. There's a renaissance happening, and I am fully here for it.
I know all of us visit moments like this throughout our lives, where we find ourselves facing a big decision, standing at a fork in the road, and having no idea which way we want or need to go. After all the thinking, assessing, and weighing, I ultimately had to get really quiet and trust that my body, mind, heart and spirit all knew. And they did... my only job is to follow.
I hope that, in some big or small way, this message supports you as your journey unfolds as well. Thank YOU and "thank you" to this beautiful business.
With love and liberation,
Julia Rose M. Polk, LMFT
