Last one in our little trip around the world! Today’s talk is about the growing animal advocacy movement in Africa. I had the honor of speaking with Aurelia Adhiambo about the challenges posed by industrialization and factory farming, and how they differ from country to country in Africa.
She represents Africa in many animal welfare conversations from the Open Wing Alliance and The Humane League to the Effective Altruism Animal Welfare Fund and the Animal & Vegan Advocacy Africa Summit.
She’s a wealth of knowledge! I think you’ll enjoy learning a bit about animal advocacy in Africa right now. As always you can listen, watch, or simply read about our conversation at https://ForAnimalsForEarth.com/show/87
Thanks guys! 💙

Hi! So sorry it’s been so long. I miss you guys. ♡
Maho Uehara joined me from Tokyo, Japan for the first episode of our new Animal Advocacy Around the World Series. 👏🏻
Maho works with アニマルウェルフェア コーポレートパートナーズ AWCP Animal Welfare Corporate Partners Japan (AWCP), a Japan-based non-profit that helps corporations and producers who are changing the egg supply chain to cage-free eggs.
We discuss:
🥚the work of AWCP
🥚how animal welfare ranks as a priority in Japan
🥚how long organizations have been working to help animals like this
🥚how things look for farm animals, companion animals, and wildlife in Japan
SIMPLE IDEA:
Pick your favorite food and research where it comes from to better understand the supply chain.

I talked with Pei Su this week! She’s the CEO and Founder of ACTAsia (among many animal advocacy titles!). She recently wrote a memoir "Life of Pei: The Battle for Compassion" that chronicles her early childhood all the way through her last 30 years of advocacy.
Pei shares her journey and motivations behind her book. The discussion highlights the challenges she faced in activism, the significance of community support, and the role of education in fostering compassion.
Pei also touches on her personal battle with cancer and the importance of self-compassion. You’re going to love this one!

As many as 550,000 animals are suffering in wildlife tourism worldwide. Many are in captive situations and forced to perform tricks, give people rides, or be handled for selfies.
We can actually help these animals by simply choosing not to support these activities. If you work in the travel industry, you can eliminate these offerings all together.
You’ll learn how to identify cruel wildlife tourism and what to do instead with Melissa Matlow of World Animal Protection Canada in my interview today.
We cover:
* When is Wildlife Tourism Cruel?
* Travel Companies Who Are Helping
* Elephant Rides
* Swim with Dolphins
* Global Ecotourism Councils
* Canadian Laws for Wildlife in Tourism
* Seeing Animals in the Wild
* Seeing Wildlife with Children
* Future of Wildlife in Tourism
* How to Avoid Burnout
I hope you’ll check it out! And please share with friends in the tourism industry. They can reach out to Melissa to partner and become Wildlife Friendly companies easily!
Thank you!!
