As we prepare to embark on a new school year lets all take the time to recognize our privilege and the opportunities it affords. The IACHR Project will be accepting 9 new staffers for the 2019/2020 academic year and look forward to continuing our conversation about Human Rights both at home and abroad.

In April, a boat smuggling dozens of people out of Venezuela, some entrapped by a human trafficking ring, capsized in the sea on the way to Trinidad. Only nine people survived.

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights Project was founded in 2011 by Professor Cesare Romano with the assistance of Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review's Volume 34 Executive Board.
Each year, the IACHR Project is comprised of a team of Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review editors and staff members. Under the supervision of Professor Cesare Romano and the Chief IACHR Editor, editors and staff members work together to author comprehensive summaries of judgments rendered by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. The Senior IACHR Editor works in concert with Loyola Law School’s Information and Technology Department to update and maintain the Project's web components.

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights Project is excited and proud to announce the release of thirty-four additional summaries written and edited by our 2015-2016 staff. The summaries are published in Volume 38, Issue 4 of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. Volume 38, Issue 4 includes summaries from the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, with most summaries discussing cases in Chile, Paraguay, and Venezuela. The website now features a total of 146 summaries.
The IACHR Project is a student-run organization that was founded in 2011 by Professor Cesare Romano with the assistance of Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review's Volume 34 Executive Board. The IACHR Project produces and publishes detailed summaries of cases rendered by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Summaries include descriptions of cases’ facts, procedural history, merits, and states’ compliance with the Court’s judgment. Summaries are accessible via our journal or through our database at iachr.lls.edu.

The editors and staffers of the IACHR Project are excited to announce the addition of twenty-three new Case Pages to our website! Case Pages on our website offer a brief description of the main points of each case, the Judges who presided, violations found by the Court, and other pertinent information.
