Thank you to all who joined us at Bruin Day! We enjoyed meeting with our NROTC Scholarship Bruin admits and their families during our NROTC Welcome Lunch and were excited to officially welcome two of our newest midshipmen to the battalion. Incoming Midshipman Paminiano and Midshipman San Luis have already activated their scholarship AND committed to UCLA! Best of luck at NSI and we will see you again in the fall.

For all other newly admitted freshmen – final day to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) is 1 MAY 2026!

A friendly reminder of all the important deadlines for the 2026 admission cycle! After joining us at Bruin Day, be sure to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by 1 MAY (for freshmen) or 1 JUNE (for MECEPs & STA-21). If you’ve already decided, you don’t need to wait till the deadline – submit your SIR today!

Congratulations Coach Kelly Inouye-Perez on becoming UCLA Softball All-Time Winningest Head Coach! If you don’t have plans this weekend, head to Easton Stadium to root for your as they take on Wisconsin. Softball's Veteran and Armed Forces Appreciation Game is scheduled for Saturday, 7 MAR 2026 – game time starts at 6:00 p.m. Show your military ID at the Easton Box Office for two complimentary tickets!

And finally (but certainly not least!) our final service selection announcement for the class of 2026. Please join us in congratulating MIDN 1/C Lizbeth Nisperos on her selection as a future cryptologic warfare officer! MIDN Nisperos is majoring in Psychobiology and recently finished serving as battalion commander (BNCO). In this role, she was responsible for the overall leadership, training, discipline, and morale of the entire battalion, and served as the key link between our midshipmen, officer candidates, and officer instructors.

Congratulations MIDN Nisperos! Now all you have to do is graduate!

EDIT: We were so excited for MIDN Michael that we failed to proofread our post. *Ooph.* Correct name of ship is the USS Rafael Peralta!

Ship selection is a major rite of passage for all graduating seniors. Earlier this year, our 1/C class found out which naval service they were selected for and today, MIDN 1/C Michael found out which ship he'll be reporting to for his first assignment as a commissioned officer. Congratulations

For our second of three service selection announcements, please join us in congratulating MIDN 1/C Yannai Michael on his selection as a future surface warfare officer! MIDN Michael recently completed serving a term as battalion executive officer (BNXO). In this role, he acted as the Chief of Staff, supervising the battalion staff, coordinating activities, ensuring standards, and was essential to managing daily operations and executing trainings of the battalion.

Congratulations MIDN Michael! Now all you have to do is graduate!

For our first of three service selection announcements, please join us in congratulating MIDN 1/C Connor Miller on his selection as a future submarine warfare officer! MIDN Miller is majoring in statistics and data science and recently finished serving as command master chief (CMC) for the Bruin Battalion. In this role, he advised the battalion commander and battalion executive officer on matters of morale, welfare, training, and discipline, while also providing leadership for platoon leaders and ensuring consistent expectations.

Congratulations MIDN Miller! Now all you have to do is graduate!
