M'ever LaYam
Every year, hundreds of young American Jews leave their homes, families, and communities to serve as Lone Soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces.
M’ever LaYam brings feelings of home to Israel for lone soldiers who made Aliyah from across the North America by connecting them with communities in their hometowns and personalized care sending packages from home. In order to ease the burden of their transition, M'ever LaYam sends care packages with requested necessities and special treats from familiar brands together with letters of support and encouragement from children, students, and families from throughout the United States.

Our Story
Every year, hundreds of young American Jews leave their homes, families, and communities to serve as Lone Soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces.
In order to ease the burden of their transition, Me’Ever Le’Yam facilitates the adoption of these soldiers by Hillel’s, Synagogues, or Jewish Day Schools from their home communities (or nearby). Throughout their service, the soldiers receive packages with requested necessities from familiar brands together with letters of support and encouragement. In return, the soldiers send short videos or letters with updates on their service and their life in Israel. Me'Ever Le'Yam revolutionizes Israel education by creating real time, face to face relationships. By connecting American youth to someone in Israel that they can relate to, both culturally and Jewishly, we allow for the cultivation of an organic relationship that supersedes material learned in readings or in classroom instruction. Jewish Youth have the opportunity to understand what it means to cultivate a relationship by investing in their lone soldier, and the lone soldier is able to maintain his/her relationship with their community in the States.
