We are thrilled to announce that ROBERT VARGAS will be joining us for LACHSApalooza this Saturday, May 30th at the Greek Theatre!

Robert Vargas' murals are a reflection of Los Angeles culture and a bridge of our shared humanity appearing in neighborhoods across the city as well as internationally, from Europe to Asia to the Middle East. He recently completed his “We Are Human” five-mural project connecting neighborhoods in Los Angeles through a shared visual language of identity, heritage, and collective power.

As a LACHSA alumni of LACHSA Visual Arts Department, Vargas is so committed to his roots in Los Angeles, that he is making a special appearance by landing in LAX from New York and driving straight to the Greek Theatre where he will pick up his brushes and paint alongside the live performance of Ozomatli at the beginning of the main stage show!

Tickets are still available and everyone is invited! 🎉

Last year at our Gala, he shared that when he was young, he saw a flyer on a wall at the Torrance Community Center. He took it and begged his mom to let him audition for this new public arts high school that was just beginning. She said yes. And the rest? History.

Mr. Anderson was one of the very first students to ever walk through LACHSA's doors. Welcoming him back to host our 40th anniversary Gala last year was a full-circle moment that we just cannot get over. And then, he said yes again.

LACHSApalooza is going to be a night to remember. And with Anthony at the mic leading our fundraising festival? You know it's going to be FUN.

Part of the LACHSA Foundation's core mission is to bring awareness to one of the most extraordinary public schools in the country. And the Los Angeles Times is helping us do exactly that.

This article tells the story of LACHSA the way we've always known it: a place where, as esteemed alumni Josh Groban puts it, kids who "didn't quite know how to fit in" find their people, their voices, and their futures. A place that has launched the careers of everyone from Phoebe Bridgers and HAIM to Kehinde Wiley and Anthony Anderson.

Stories like this matter. Awareness matters. And on May 30th at the Greek Theatre, LACHSApalooza is our chance to turn that awareness into action, helping us achieve our goal of raising $2.5 million to fund the next 40 years of LACHSA...and beyond.
