This is a community to support parents through various transitions and parenting challenges. I just returned home from setting my son up in his college dorm.

I have created this page for anyone who feels they want support and guidance in parenting. While he walks into his big exciting life, I too have a big exciting life to live. Let's be all that we are born to be, starting NOW! Together we can do what alone feels impossible. I now live alone with my 14 year old son and I want to share what it's like with all of you in the hopes that we can create a l

I just sat here re-reading an old post about Gabriel sleeping through his alarm and all of the feelings it brought up. Whether to make breakfast or not? wake him or not?

Well there have been many occasions where he's managed to sleep through his alarm over the years and I have not interfered, well maybe once ;-)

I continue to make my sweet boy his breakfast every day and we do sit for breakfast together. On days where he has no time, I pack it for him to go. That feels like such a loving gesture to me. He works so hard as a student with so many plates spinning at the moment...it's college application crunch time. They're due in 4 days.

I can't believe my baby is a senior and will be going off to college. I have such feelings of happiness for him and I have such a sense of , well, I guess loss. Grieving the fact that we will no longer be living together. Grieving youth in many ways, his, mine. I feel like it's so important to look at these feelings and honor them. They matter, in fact it's part of my processing all of this. As I allow myself to own what's true for me, I feel like I clear the space for new energy to enter. There's also a sense of excitement at what the future holds. Natan, my big boy...guess I'll always call him that, is graduating from college! What will that look like? What will my single life look like as an empty nester? I truly believe that the best is yet to come.

I live a spiritual life, having been a student of spirituality for the past 12 years. I have such peace and comfort in life as it is. Honestly, I have 2 choices, accept and align with what is or ....STRUGGLE! I choose acceptance.

So as I accept the aging process, the boys leaving and living their big kick ass lives, I too step into my life in a new way. I feel empowered by life experiences, my experiences.

I have loved every single moment of being a mother. Honestly, it's the only thing I ever wanted or cared about while growing up...becoming a mother!

I'm just so grateful! No words can describe what it feels like to witness these two amazing boys that I've had the honor and privilege of sharing life with as their mother. I thank them all the time for choosing me! They're AWESOME!!!

I just received this fabulous poem from Edi Spanier!!! I had to share...

Please Come Home

Please come home. Please come home.
Find the place where your feet know to walk
And follow your own trail home.

Please come home. Please come into your own body,
Your own vessel, your own earth.
Please come home into each and every cell
And fully into the space that surrounds you.

Please come home. Please come home to trusting yourself,
and your instincts and your ways and your knowings,
And even the particular quirks of your personality.

Please come home. Please come home and once you are firmly there,
please stay home awhile and come to a deep rest within.
Please treasure your home. Please love and embrace your home.
Please get a deep sense of what it's like to be truly home.

Please come home. Please come home and when you're really, really ready,
And there's a detectable urge on the out breath, then please come out.
Please come home and please come forward.
Please express who you are to us, and please trust us
To see you and hear you and touch you
and recognize you as best we can.

Please come home. Please come home and let us know
all the nooks and crannies that are calling to be seen.
Please come home, and let us know more
that is there that wants to come out.

Please come home. Please come home,
and when you feel yourself home, please welcome us too.
for we too forget that we belong and are welcome,
and that we are called to express and fully be who we are.

Please come home. Please come home,
you and you and you and me.

Thank you Earth for welcoming us,
and thank you touch of eyes and ears and skin,
touch of love for welcoming us.

May we wake up and remember who we truly are.

Please come home.

"What I think is that a good life is one hero journey after another. Over and over again, you are called to the realm of adventure, you are called to new horizons. Each time, there is the same problem: do I dare? And then if you do dare, the dangers are there, and the help also, and the fulfillment or the fiasco. There's always the possibility of a fiasco. But there's also the possibility of bliss."

- Joseph Campbell
