I love a big transformation, like making a robe from a wedding dress. A client came to me with a great idea: create a robe for her daughter out of her early 90s wedding gown. Her daughter will wear it while she prepares for her own wedding. I used most of the train and the appliqués to make this special garment. It’s truly something old and something new! What a wonderful shower gift.

I was thrilled to make two custom-made costumes for the Bourbon St. Ball fundraiser (). Working with Ball organizers and was a dream. Zoe’s two-piece 1940s look was inspired by the iconic . I tried to capture their famous awning, complete with a rhinestoned servers’ hat. Yes, I wanted beignets and chicory coffee the whole time I was cutting and sewing.

I’ve watched “Somewhere in Time” (1980) countless times. I first saw it on Betamax (google it) with my dad as a little girl. I didn’t know then that I was in love Jane Seymour and wanted to be Christopher Reeve! This weekend I got to live that dream at the Somewhere in Time weekend on Mackinac Island, MI, the film’s spectacular location. I made the suit and corset from vintage English wool from the historic B Black and Sons in DTLA. Thank you to the incredible for helping me with the jacket. And always love and gratitude to my beautiful partners and Jenny Haliski.
