Francesa Moore: 30 Years of Building Relationships | UCLA Dentistry “IT’S MY CO-WORKERS WHO MAKE IT EASY to come to work every day. We’re a team. We put our heads down and get things done,” said Francesa Moore. Fran will celebrate her 30-year work anniversary in January 2020. When asked about retirement, she laughed and said, “I’m not quite ready yet.”

It’s our honor to have Dr. Kunihiko Miyash*ta (宮下邦彥）here giving a mastery lecture on cephalometrics. Dr. Miyash*ta comes from Tokyo, Japan. He has been coming annually for more than 30years to give lectures to our residents. Thank you for your dedication, Dr. Miyash*ta.

This year, three of our third year residents received awards at the AAO Charley Schultz Residents Award! Dr. Boshi Zhang won third place for his clinical research, and Dr. Monica Chenshuang Li and Dr. Justine Tanjaya won awards for their basic research. Congratulations to our residents and we hope to continue the excellence in research at UCLA Orthodontics!

Thank you to our cephalometric expert, orthodontist and oral surgeon, Dr. Miyash*ta, for teaching us lat ceph and PA ceph tracings! Despite flying in from Japan the night before, he gave an extensive two-day lecture from 9AM to 5PM. Thank you Dr. Miyash*ta, and come back again to ride the Birds at UCLA!
