Students in our 3/4 Village reversed engineered STEM kits and used parts to recreate an amusement park using solar and battery powered motors.

Our 3/4 Village students had a blast exploring the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, meeting a judge, and showing off their knowledge in a lively game of Legal Jeopardy. The courthouse scavenger hunt sparked lots of great conversations, and lunch at Grand Park made for the perfect midday break. It was a fun and meaningful way to bring their government and justice unit to life!

Congratulations to our Willie Wonka cast! Their performance this week was incredible, and we are so proud of their hard work and dedication. They brought this delightful musical to life in our historic Piness Auditorium, singing, dancing, and making the audience laugh. 🍬🍭🍫🎫

Kindergarten students made paper during science as part of their Torah, Torah, Torah the Explorers unit. They’ve been engaged in an inquiry-based study, exploring the Torah, its physical properties, what makes it beautiful, the text. They incorporated flowers and other natural materials into their paper, and will be creating messages to include before rolling them into their own scrolls.

Our 1/2 Village students had a blast at Huntington Gardens yesterday. They enjoyed the Chinese and Japanese gardens, as well as the rainforest area. Our students also had fun playing in the children’s garden before heading back on the bus!

Our 3/4 Village kicked off their social studies unit on government by discussing what it means to live in a democracy and the privilege of voting to choose their leaders! To bring this to life, they held a class election: Matzah Moose vs. Shofar Sheep. Students also learned about the three branches of government and played a lively game to match real-life responsibilities with each branch.

Today we welcomed representatives from Brothers for Life to our Shabbat. Brothers for Life is a non-profit organization, created and run by injured Israeli veterans, which gives critical and immediate help to other injured Israeli combat veterans who sacrificed their lives for the safety of the Jewish people. They shared their inspirational stories with our students.
