Christmas tree hunt! In LA, we try to find the tree lot that doesn’t feel like you’re just standing in a parking lot with trees. Ha!

We love coming to this church tree lot for vibes and their support of various community organizations we love (we see you !).

So lovely to be together and enjoy hot cocoa and our LA tree hunt experience together. Even if it’s really too warm for sweaters and the only snow is made of movie magic and soap. :)

The power of what we leave behind. This is what I’ve been thinking about since my Dad passed away last week.

I’ve been thinking about the mark he left.
And the mark I want to leave.

How will people know we were here?
For my Dad, he served people practically as a mechanic, missionary and even late in his life as a tax preparer. He loved helping people.

While he would say he didn’t have a lot of regrets in his life, I know there were songs he never played (he played the saxophone) and at least one book he never wrote.

I miss the possibility of those existing almost as much as I am sad at the actual lack of their existence. Because I would have more of him.

Life really is incredibly short. About the time you start to figure it out, you’re getting along in years, ha! (Maybe it’s just me? But at 52, I finally feel like I know a few things.)

All this to say - what do you want to be known for now and later in your life?

What do you want to be sure to leave behind in this world? How could the world be more loving, beautiful, inspired or better off because of the people, work, and impact you created a mark on?
