To the version of me before I became a mom, I see you now..

You were angry. Guarded.
Always ready to run.
You called it strength, but really… it was survival.
You were tired of being let down, so you stopped letting anyone in.
You pushed people away before they could leave.
You wore pain like armor and called it independence.
You were reckless with your time and careless with your heart.
You chased chaos just to feel something.
Because nothing felt safe. Nothing felt real.

And then… two lines changed everything.
That version of you who didn’t care about anything?
Suddenly cared about everything.

Motherhood cracked you open.
Shattered the walls you swore would never come down.
Forced you to face the parts of yourself you buried.
Taught you how to love with no conditions,
How to show up even when you’re exhausted,
And how to fight for something bigger than your own pain.

You’re softer now, but stronger.
More intentional. More grounded.
