The Lion's Den is a professional tracking board and networking resource for Emerson College alumni in the Los Angeles entertainment industry.
Welcome to The Lion’s Den! We are a Los Angeles-based, unsanctioned Emerson College alumni organization focused on facilitating resources for Emersonians in the entertainment industry. We created this page as an extension of our primary function — management of the Lion’s Den tracking board — as a new resource for alumni and current students alike. Here you’ll find news and updates that are of int
erest to the Emerson LA community, editorials by graduates, and internship and career advice (all based on real-world experience) for students and recent graduates. While we are proud to be Emersonians and hold the school in high regard, our goal is to provide practical perspectives that go beyond what academia can offer. To go “into the lion’s den” means to enter a place of great risk and uncertainty. While it’s up to you to blaze your own trail through the proverbial wilderness of Hollywood, we hope we can at least point you in the right direction. THE BOARD:
The Lion's Den tracking board is a member-based email list that provides resources and networking opportunities for alumni. Because it is a shared resource that relies upon the contributions of its members, we have strict criteria for membership: to join, you must be an alumnus (no current students or recent graduates), you must be currently living in Los Angeles, and you must be currently employed in the entertainment industry. To join, please put your name in via the Google Groups sign-up page: http://groups.google.com/group/lionsdenla. Please remember to include your year of graduation and current company/job title. If you're a current student or are making the move to Los Angeles in the near future, we hope this page can be helpful in providing practical career advice and other information relevant to the industry and life in LA. If you have specific questions not answered on this site, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll do our very best to help.
