Such sad news. An inspiration to so many singers. Thinking of Maureen along with her many fans. 🙁

‘The Morning After’ singer shared the news in an emotional video on social media.

Couldn't be prouder of my voice student Miss Sophie Pollono! Out of 140,000 entries, and 92 final participants at the show - Soph was selected among the top 8 finalists and the top 4 girls at The Jimmy Awards last night in NYC. Then, she gave THIS performance her first time on a Broadway stage. A real crowd fave, she had them on their feet by the end. A total triumph!! Congrats to all - what a life-changing, amazing experience. Sophie, you are off and running, beautiful girl - sky's the limit!! 🥰❤️🌟

My voice student Sophie Pollono is at The Jimmy Awards this week in NYC - I'm on pins and needles!! Just days away before she takes the stage at the Minskoff Theatre. The Jimmy Awards are a national celebration of outstanding student achievement, recognizing individual artistry in vocal, dance, and acting performance and elevating the importance of theatre arts education in schools. Soooooo incredibly excited for her! 🥰🤩
