Always buy the official ACT and SAT guide books. The authentic problems are written by groups of college professors. the actual authors are unknown. But they are unique, creative problems. that just cannot be recreated by third party retail ACT SAT books. However there is now an even better source of problems. Pirated copies of the actual tests. We cannot distribute these, but we do use them to make similar practice problems.
