THE MUSICAL, an AFI Conservatory short film from 2022, will make its World Premiere as a feature film at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival next month! Mehrel, for a special screening of her film HONEYJOON, which joins AFI FEST presented by Canva’s Discovery screenings, celebrating exciting new voices pushing the boundaries of cinema. Following the screening, Mehrel will be joined by VP of Tribeca Studios + Artist Development, Bryce Norbitz, to discuss the making of the film and the AT&T Untold Stories program, which awards $1M to an emerging filmmaker annually — the largest film production prize in the world.
