💜 June is Lipedema Awareness Month 💜

Looking back at these videos, I wish I could tell that version of me that she wasn’t failing.

Before my diagnosis, I had no idea I was living with lipedema. I didn’t understand why my legs felt heavy, swollen, painful, and disproportionately affected despite doing all the “right” things.

I thought I needed more discipline.

What I actually needed was answers.

The difference between these clips isn’t that I became perfect. I still have cellulite. I still have lipedema. But I learned how to support my body instead of constantly fighting against it.

Through lifestyle changes, symptom management, and understanding my condition, I’ve significantly reduced inflammation, improved my quality of life, and regained confidence in my body—without surgery.

And that’s why I share my journey.

Not because I have all the answers, but because I know how lonely and confusing this condition can feel when you don’t know what’s happening to your body.

If you’re struggling with stubborn lower-body fat, heaviness, swelling, pain, easy bruising, or feeling like your body isn’t responding the way everyone says it should, you’re not alone.

This reel can’t cover everything about lipedema, but my page is dedicated to sharing what I’ve learned and giving women hope that things can get better.

Tell me below: Were you diagnosed with lipedema, or are you still searching for answers? ⬇️

‘Just keep dieting.’
‘Do more cardio.’
‘You’re already lean enough to compete.’

What people don’t see is that lipedema doesn’t respond like normal fat. My upper body leans out with training and nutrition—my legs don’t, no matter how disciplined I am.

That’s the reality of living with a fat disorder while also being deeply committed to fitness. You can be healthy, strong, athletic, and still carry painful, resistant fat that cannot be dieted away.

So when people tell me I’d ‘crush wellness,’ understand there’s another side to this journey most people never see. This isn’t laziness, lack of effort, or inconsistency. It’s lipedema.

And for many of us, the level of leanness required for a bodybuilding stage isn’t possible without surgery.

Still showing up. Still training. Still proud of this body for everything it does.

“you don’t look like you have lipedema”

I get that a lot now… but the second half of this video is me before I understood what was happening in my body. Even at my heaviest, you can see the pattern: smaller upper body, weight carried disproportionately in my legs. That wasn’t “just weight”… and it didn’t respond like typical weight loss either.

Yes, I’ve lost overall weight — but more importantly, I’ve learned how to manage my lipedema and the inflammation that comes with it. This didn’t happen overnight, and it’s not effortless maintenance. It’s consistent, intentional work.

What I did then (and still do now):
• Low-impact cardio (walking incline, etc.)
• Heavy strength training (building muscle is everything)
• Anti-inflammatory, high-protein diet
• Minimizing alcohol
• Daily compression + leg elevation
• Lymphatic drainage (manual + tools)
• Vibration plate sessions
• Targeted lipedema supplements like Pycnogenol and Lipera — details at the link on my page)

This is your reminder: just because someone looks “fine” now doesn’t mean they didn’t fight HARD to get here and it also doesn’t mean my diagnosis is nonexistent 🤍

If you’re on this journey too, I see you

I get asked what I’m doing differently… so here it is, no gatekeeping👇

This is 8 weeks.

And no — it wasn’t a magic fix.

I dialed in the basics HARD:
• lifting 5x/week
• daily steps (10k+)
• consistent cardio
• calorie deficit
• high protein

Yes, all of that alone will get you results.

But I did add one extra tool that helped speed things up — especially with appetite, energy, leaning out, and quieting the food noise.

I won’t go into full detail here but if you’re curious:

Comment “pep” and I’ll send you everything I used + how I approached it.
