MISSION OBJECTIVES:
1. Continuation of MAU's internal projects in medicine, health and wellness, human behaviour studies
2. Focus specifically on designing, testing, further R&D and optimization of ANA Avatar XPRIZE "AvatarMEDIC" Project. Preliminary findings and challenges encountered in the onsite field testing will enable the scientific and technology teams to find resolutions and create innovative solutions in order for deployment in the upcoming MAU-NEPAL Crew 002 MARS MEDICS mission in September to Upper Mustang in Nepal (approx 17,000 ft elevation).
3. Data collection for inclusion into MAUs scientific papers and presentations
The schedule dates as follows:
22 - 23 June - PRE-SIM TRAINING & FAMILIARIZATION
24 - 27 June - MISSION DATES
28 June - POST-SIM DECOMPRESSION/DEBRIEF

Introducing KSENIA BENIFAND MSc of Marsacademyusacrew1120 - Mars Medics V, HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER. Ksenia will bring onboard the VR "Burning Love" Project for astronaut wellness
BIO: Ksenia is a human-centered designer, futurist, and social researcher, passionate about building resilient communities and authentic human networks to create a healthy, equitable, empathy-driven and sustainable future. Over the last decade she has worked with Fortune 500 corporations, cities, governments, non-profits, entrepreneurs, educators and artists and has gained multidisciplinary experience designing policies, strategies, products, programs and services to help solve complex business, policy and social challenges. Some examples of her recent projects include: policy design for community-based healthcare and hospital of the future, circular economy transition design, Smart City Futures using VR for public engagement, business model innovation for a multi-stakeholder “Sustainability Innovation Centre”, mental health policy framework design, and scenario planning for Future of Business in 2030. During the diverse span of her career, the one constant variable has been the need to understand complex social dynamics that teams and groups of people encounter during collaboration and decision-making processes. As someone who has lived in several countries and has experienced a wide variety of diverse cultures in both her personal and professional life, she has gained a unique understanding of the challenges that groups encounter when working together and has developed tools and abilities to lead complex projects and initiatives.In her search for more sophisticated tools for authentic connection she began research on authentic relations and communication tools and designing experiences using Virtual Reality to help diverse groups of people build authentic connections and trust. Her most recent VR project combines social learning theory, authentic relations and storytelling designed to help people develop and practice authentic relating skills to advance and deepen relationships and connections across boardrooms, innovation labs, and communities. She holds a BA, International Development, and Master of Design (MDes), Strategic Foresight & Innovation.
