Student Spotlight 🩷

This week we interviewed Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Melanie Cebula, aka ✨ melliejellie music 🎵

Fresh off the release of her debut EP “all about u” last month, melliejellie is building a Y2K-inspired universe through music, hand-drawn artwork, and analog media.

Classically trained and an alum of IO Music Academy, Melanie’s sound combines hyperpop-inspired vocal chops, soulful melodies, live instrumentation, and modern UK garage rhythms to create something entirely her own.

Swipe to read more about the inspiration behind all about u, her journey through music production at IO, and how her love of ’90s culture, anime, video games, and the early internet continues to shape her sound 💿✨
