Dear Parents,
As some of you may already be aware, LAUSD has extended their school closures until May 1st. Though this has occurred, schools under the Archdiocese of Los Angeles have been instructed to resume classes on April 20th, unless further orders are given by State and/or County health officials. ADLA follows their guidance from public health officials and the last statewide order has been “Safer at Home,” which is in effect until April 19th. Should anything change regarding the date of return, I will inform you all. Attached you will find a letter from Mr. Paul Escala, Superintendent of Schools, addressing school closures.

Sister Mary Catherine Antczak, principal of Santa Teresita School, received the Religious Service Award at the 3rd Annual Angel Awards Gala held at the California Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion. The Angel Awards is presented by the Los Angeles Chapter of the Catholic Association of Latino Leaders (C.A.L.L.). Join us in congratulating Sister Mary Catherine.

Congratulations to Santa Teresita 2011 graduate, Mark Vasquez, for ranking among the top ten academic students in his grade at Bishop Mora Salesian High School. Mark achieved this distinction based on grades earned at the end of the first semester. Mark, along with other top ten students, were joined by their families and Salesian faculty and staff for a special ceremony held at Luminarias Restaurant to celebrate their achievement. Congratulations, Mark. The Santa Teresita School family are proud of you.

It’s Catholic Schools Week! Santa Teresita School will host its annual Open House on Thursday, January 30 for parents who want to learn more about providing their children with a quality, Catholic education.

Spread the word and invite families you know to visit your alma mater! Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the principal, see the classrooms in action, and learn about scholarships available to make a Catholic education affordable. Admission applications will be available.

Santa Teresita School started the school year on August 28 and we hope to see more alums return this year. We are planning an Alumni Career Day in April and more opportunities for alums to get involved.
