The excitement of College Bowl wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated professionals who help bring the competition to life. Their time, encouragement, and support help create an environment where students can challenge themselves, collaborate with their peers, and showcase their STEM knowledge.

To continue with our batch of professional volunteers, we’re shining a spotlight on four more individuals who helped make the College Bowl at the 38th Annual GMiS Conference a success: Richard Lopez, Andres Servando Aguirre, Mindy Farrell, and Michael Omana.

Your willingness to step up and contribute helped make this competition a meaningful experience for our students. Beyond the questions, the teamwork, and the friendly rivalry, your involvement reminds students that they have a community of professionals cheering them on and invested in their success.

Thank you for being part of the team behind the competition and helping us create lasting opportunities for the next generation of STEM leaders!
We’re proud to continue celebrating the incredible volunteers who make the GMiS experience possible.

A conference of this scale doesn’t come together without people willing to step up and help.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our ten GMiS Delegates who helped keep the 38th Annual GMiS Conference running smoothly: Jermaine Tucson, Erik Morquecho, Omar Navar, Gael Hernandez, A***n Perez Ramos, Ezekiel Sanchez, Lourdes Casillas, Andrea Herrera, Wendy Vargas, and Vanessa Peralta. From assisting attendees and supporting activities to helping wherever they were needed, their presence made a meaningful difference throughout the conference.

While we were only able to capture a few of our delegates in photos, this thank-you is for all nine of you.

Thank you for your time, energy, flexibility, and willingness to step up when it mattered. You helped make GMiS 2026 a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone who attended.

We appreciate you more than you know!

Student-professional engagement is at the heart of what we do at GMiS, and the College Bowl is a perfect example of what can happen when professionals invest their time, knowledge, and encouragement in the next generation of STEM leaders.

Today, we’re proud to recognize Ed Jimenez, Chad Young, Carmen Jaimez, and Joeletta Patrick for serving as College Bowl coaches at the 38th Annual GMiS Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Your support gave students an opportunity to put their knowledge to the test, challenge themselves, work as a team, and learn from professionals who believe in their potential. Beyond the competition itself, your presence helped create an experience where students could connect, grow, and see what’s possible for their own futures.

Thank you for answering the call, sharing your expertise, and showing up for our students. Your involvement makes a difference, and we’re grateful to have you as part of the GMiS community.

This is just one of many groups of volunteers we’ll be recognizing throughout the coming weeks. Thank you to all of our College Bowl volunteers who helped make this year’s competition possible!
