Celebrate International Day of Inclusive Play with My PlayClub! 🌴☀️

Join us for a FREE beach-themed playdate at Glen Alla Playground in Marina Del Rey, where children of ALL abilities can play, connect, and belong together in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The International Day of Play is an official United Nations observance held annually on June 11 to recognize play as a fundamental human right and raise awareness about its essential role in children’s development, well-being, and lifelong learning. Established by the United Nations in 2024, the day serves as a global call to action to protect every child’s right to play—especially as safe spaces for play continue to shrink around the world.

As an organization with Consultative Status with the United Nations, Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration is proud to celebrate this important movement by creating our own International Day of Inclusive Play—a community celebration dedicated to ensuring that children of all abilities can play, learn, and grow side by side.

In addition to free play at our fully accessible playground, families can enjoy activities that encourage creativity, movement, teamwork, and connection, including:

• Sand castle building station
• Water balloon toss and sponge relay games
• Beach scavenger hunt
• Music and dancing
• Face painting & temporary tattoos
• Storytime in our Book Nook
• Buddy play and cooperative games
• Snacks and refreshments

Congress is currently in the process of writing spending bills to fund key programs for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027, including special education. Call on Congress to fund all parts of IDEA and avoid any cuts for infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who serve them.

It is more important than ever to make your voice heard as a special education professional. Join fellow advocates at the Special Education Legislative Summit this summer and champion the future of special education! Early bird rates end on May 15—register today!

If you or your partner have a sibling with autism, your baby may be eligible to receive expert developmental monitoring at no cost from leading clinicians and researchers. Families may receive written reports, personalized feedback, and support and resources, and you will be paid for your time.

The Next Gen Sibs Project is a multi-site research study exploring how autism traits run in families. We know that children with an autistic sibling have a higher likelihood of autism, and emerging research suggests this may also be true for children whose parent has an autistic sibling.

You may be eligible if:
• You have a baby (12 months or younger) or are currently expecting
• At least one of your baby's biological aunts or uncles is diagnosed with autism

Participation is available virtually or in-person through one of eight sites worldwide, including UCLA, Yale University, Emory University, Washington University in St. Louis, UC Davis, University of Miami, University of London–Birkbeck, and University of Alberta.
