Clay G. Sadler was born, adopted, and raised in St. Louis Mo. Both his parents and two siblings are still very much a part of his everyday life.
After high school, Clay attended the International Academy of Merchandising and Design in Chicago IL to begin his pursuit of becoming a Fashion Designer. Clay further honed his skills as a 1st stitcher in numerous costume workrooms and even as a sample maker for a bridal designer in Chicago. Clay developed his over-the-top and outrageous design aesthetic by designing gowns and costumes for some of
the nations most famous or infamous female impersonators known. (Drag Queens)
In 2005 Clay decided to "refresh" his skills and chose to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, he received his AA in Fashion Design in 2008 and was then accepted in the prestigious Advance Study Program in which he was awarded the Michael Novarese full scholarship, and the Betty Baumgartner scholarship award from the Textile Association of Los Angeles, and third place in the Cotton Incorporated "Chairing Styles" scholarship competition. This program culminates in the school annual fashion show called DEBUT 2009 in which Clay was featured as the finale group for his collection of all red carpet worthy evening gowns. During this advanced study program Mattel ask the student designer to create one of a kind garments to help celebrate Barbie's 50th anniversary, Clay was given Barbie at the Venice Masquerade Ball. After Graduating Clay was asked to work with FIDM in collaboration to design an evening gown based on the new product from Glaceau (coke a cola) his design was featured in Washington D.C. at the Fashion 4 Paws annual runway event. Clay worked again with FIDM and Disney to "re-design" the RED QUEEN from Alice in Wonderland to a red carpet evening look. Clay was also asked to design an runway look based on a Cadillac automobile.
