Anyone, regardless of prior singing experience, will find their singing technique and vocal ability drastically improved from their time spent in lessons with Arden. Arden’s private lessons focus on teaching singers how to find greater freedom and creative expression through the use of their voice. The lessons emphasize the freeing of the body in order to access the most efficient use of breath and resonance. Arden’s private lessons help singers tap into the natural beauty of their voices through vocal warm ups, technical exercises and body work that frees them of the tensions that create a manufactured and unhealthy sound. FOR RECORDING ARTISTS: Arden is an experienced and dedicated Vocal Producer working with music producers and recording studios in Los Angeles and around the world. Recording artists, record labels and record producers hire Arden in advance of recording sessions to work with artists in private lessons on the material they will be recording. With her dual expertise as vocal coach and recording artist, she is uniquely suited to take the singer beyond their limitations to discover the inspired performance within. After working one-on-one in a few lessons, Arden then attends all recording sessions of the material as Vocal Producer, working hand in hand with the producers and engineers and, most importantly, the artist, coaching and nurturing them throughout the session towards their best vocal performance. After the session, Arden stays on with the engineer to compile and edit the vocal takes into their final form. She has many years of recording and vocal producing experience in Los Angeles and enjoys working with developing artists. FOR ACTORS: Arden Kaywin provides singing instruction for actors of all disciplines and across the various mediums of television, film and musical theater. Actors in Los Angeles have many more jobs available to them if they are comfortable singing. Her lessons focus on the needs of each individual performer and the ways in which they would like to incorporate singing into their career. For example, many actors feel ambushed when extemporaneously asked to sing in an audition. Arden helps actors gain a sense of confidence about their singing voice through her lessons with them, enabling them to connect their instincts as a performer with the technical requirements of singing. Arden believes that it is crucial for actors to learn to connect to their breath energy. For many actors in Los Angeles, their work with a voice teacher in voice lessons has a way of reinforcing and expanding their work in acting classes. Arden has been working with the actors of the New York Film Academy at their Los Angeles campus in Hollywood and the actors of the X Repertory Theater in downtown Los Angeles as part of their Studio Intensive Acting Conservatory. She teaches a performance class called “Singing For Actors”, and has seen first hand how their singing training has contributed to huge breakthroughs in their acting. HEALING VOCAL PROBLEMS: Do you often loose your voice or find a scratchy, “horse” tone getting in the way of reaching your goals as a singer? An experienced voice teacher can help train you to develop new, efficient and healthy vocal habits. In addition to training singers in vocal techniques that will help them realize their most free and resonant sound, Arden is also a voice teacher sought out by students to help them fix specific vocal and singing problems like a warbling vibrato, “stuck” breath, compressed strident tone, extreme tongue tension, and flimsy or muffled resonance. Generally, none of these conditions are permanent and they can be ameliorated over time by working one-on-one in private voice lessons with an experienced voice teacher.
