We warmly congratulate attorney Rula Zahalka on her appointment as the second woman in history to serve as a Qadi (Judge) in Israel’s Muslim Sharia Courts.
Her appointment is a meaningful step forward for women’s representation in religious judicial leadership and a powerful reminder of why opening doors matters.
At NA’AMAT, we continue to hope for a future in which matters of marriage and divorce are not determined exclusively by religious courts. But until then, every breakthrough matters. The appointment of women to positions of judicial authority creates change from within and opens doors for those who will follow.
While women are now able to serve as judges in the Sharia Courts, this remains a right still denied to women in Israel’s Rabbinical Courts.
We welcome this important milestone and remain committed to advancing equality, representation, and opportunity for women. 💜

Yesterday, NA’AMAT celebrated Educators’ Day with one of our favorite traditions: strengthening our deep connection with the amazing women who work with our children every single day.
Headquarters teams traveled all across Israel, from south to north, visiting NA’AMAT daycare centers to personally thank the incredible educators who nurture and care for the next generation.
This day was about so much more than just recognition.
It was about showing up with genuine gratitude, warm hugs, kind words, and sweet gestures for the women who are truly the light and pride of our movement.
To our educators: You are the beating heart of NA’AMAT. 💜
Your dedication allows parents to go to work every day with peace of mind, knowing their children are growing in a safe, loving, and supportive environment, even during the most challenging times.
Thank you for everything you do! 🙌

The newly released report by the Civil Commission on sexual and gender-based violence committed during the attacks on October 7 and throughout the captivity of the hostages in Gaza, is one of the most important and comprehensive documents published on these crimes to date.
Spanning nearly 300 pages, the report presents an unprecedented legal and factual account giving voice and recognition to victims whose suffering was too often denied, dismissed, or silenced.
NA’AMAT deeply commends the women leading this work legal experts and advocates who, with immense courage and determination, confronted extremely difficult testimony and evidence in order to ensure that these crimes cannot be erased, ignored, or rewritten.
We believe it is our responsibility to continue sharing this report, amplifying these voices, and making sure the world cannot look away.

The leaders of tomorrow begin now. 💜
We proudly opened the fourth cohort of NA’AMAT’s Future Leadership Program.
This is more than the opening of a course, it is the opening of possibilities.
A group of courageous and talented women walked into the room, each choosing to invest in herself, to grow, to challenge limits, and to step into her potential. And we know that by the end of this journey, they will leave stronger, more confident, and even more empowered than when they arrived.
In the months ahead, they will take part in a shared journey of learning, leadership development, practical tools, and the building of a powerful support network.
This is the moment when women from across Israeli society come together, becoming a connected community, agents of change, and leaders who lead with both purpose and heart.
At NA’AMAT, we believe the future of leadership starts by giving women the space, support, and opportunity to rise.

Last week marked a significant breakthrough, but also a powerful reminder of how much work still lies ahead.
For the first time, following a landmark Supreme Court ruling in July 2025, women in Israel were finally allowed to sit for the Chief Rabbinate exams. Three amazing women Yaara Widman-Samuel, Ruth Agiv, and Rachel Tzaban, stepped forward to claim a right that should have always been theirs.
But even when the law is clear, reality does not always follow.
While male candidates began their exams as scheduled, the women were delayed, separated, and left waiting for hours without proper materials facing treatment that should have no place in any system committed to equality. Only after urgent legal intervention did the process move forward.
This is both a historic achievement and a sobering moment.
It proves that religious scholarship and leadership are not the domain of men alone. It opens the door to a more inclusive and evolving discourse. But it also reminds us that equality cannot exist only on paper it must be lived, protected, and enforced.
At NA’AMAT, we see this as an important step, not just for women in Israel, but for women everywhere. Progress in one place strengthens the path forward for all.
And still, this is only the beginning.

Yesterday evening, at a moving event titled “Women Leading in Zionism,” initiated by Eyal Oustrinsky, Chairman of JNF (Keren Kayemet LeYisrael), NA’AMAT had the honor of celebrating one of its most influential leaders.
Masha Lubelsky, one of the founding mothers of NA’AMAT as we know it today, was recognized for her decades-long commitment to advancing women’s rights and gender equality. Her leadership as President of NA’AMAT, her continued public service in NA’AMAT, the Knesset, the government as Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry, and the Zionist institutions.
Masha, as those who follow in your path, we are very proud to carry your legacy forward and wish you many more years of meaningful impact. 💜
