Dual Language Immersion (DLI) in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (ADLA) is a model of education in which students matriculate through grades TK (or even pre-school) through grade 8 learning content in two languages, English and a Partner Language (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin). Students also experience daily prayers, Masses, celebrations, and performances in both languages. Dual Language Immersion schools provide academic excellence in a Catholic, multilingual setting in order to prepare students to serve as faith-filled disciples in our global community.

Attributes:
Be bilingual with native-like proficiency and recognize the benefits of bilingualism
Demonstrate record of success working with students at various grade levels
Plan collaboratively with colleagues
Have passion for and experience with curriculum development and assessment
Be well-organized, highly energetic, and deeply caring
Plan and implement a rigorous academic curriculum in line with the Common Core and Archdiocesan standards
Preference given to candidates with Catechist certification

The most competitive candidates will possess:
Undergraduate degree in early childhood, elementary, or general education
CA teaching credential, or is in the process of obtaining
Experience teaching
Understand second language acquisition
Significant training in literacy development
Understanding of dual immersion programming and research
Basic catechist certificate
