Higher education has led to second chances for this amazing group of Golden Eagles! 🌟

Cal State LA celebrates another successful year at the Prison Graduation Initiative (PGI) as graduates walk the stage. Founded in 2016, the program prepares incarcerated students for career readiness and re-entry upon their release from prison.

This month, we celebrate the resilience, visibility and resistance of the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride is a time to honor the leaders, advocates, students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who continue to push for equity, belonging and justice.

At Cal State LA, resilience is our legacy, and we remain committed to building a campus community where everyone can be seen, valued and celebrated.

Campus and community members are encouraged to make a plan, stay informed, and use official election resources for the latest Vote Center hours, ballot drop box information, and voting guidance.

Cal State LA is proud to host the 2026 CSU Juneteenth Symposium, a virtual systemwide gathering for the California State University community.

Taking place on June 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon, the symposium will be guided by the theme Pathways to Progress: Legacy, Learning, and Leadership.

This year’s symposium will create space for reflection, dialogue, connection, and collective action as the CSU community honors Black history, elevates student success, and continues the ongoing pursuit of freedom and equity.

Commencement is not only a celebration of our graduates — it is a celebration of every parent, grandparent, sibling, partner, friend, mentor and loved one who cheered them on along the way.

To the families who filled the room with pride, joy and love: thank you for being part of the journey.

Class of 2026, your village was loud and proud. 🎓

Cal State LA, the Los Angeles Community College District and East Los Angeles College are partnering to expand access to affordable student housing and support student success.

Today, the institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding launching the LA NEXT College Housing Partnership, the first intersegmental housing agreement between a CSU campus and a Los Angeles community college.

Through the partnership, eligible ELAC students will have access to apartment-style housing and coordinated student support services on the Cal State LA campus beginning in August 2026. Participating students will receive furnished housing, a meal plan, high-speed internet, on-site laundry, residential programming, wellness services and 24-hour residential life coverage.

The partnership is designed to provide students with stability, proximity to campus and a clearer path to transfer and degree completion.

has officially been chosen to be a Los Angeles County Vote Center for the upcoming election. Located in the Student Services Building, voters are able to submit their ballots between May 30th through June 2nd.

You have all worked so hard, showing the grit, dedication, care and pride that it takes to be a Golden Eagle. It’s been an honor to recognize your accomplishments over the past three days and celebrate you alongside the ones who love you the most!

Wherever the world takes you, remember you are a part of a community. A community that remains after graduation. One that breaks down doors, and keeps them open for others. One that always welcomes its kin home.

We will always be here to support you and cheer you on in all your endeavors. And we encourage you to participate, mentor and engage with those who will soon follow in your footsteps.
