In the space of time it has taken me to motivate myself to do some long-delayed exercise, our three peaks team have summited not one but TWO of the three peaks! ππππ
At around 5am this morning when we were all fast asleep, the UEA team took on Scafell Pike in typical Northern windy, rainy weather! βοΈπ§π
Our team are putting a fantastic effort in taking on the Three Peaks in aid of the incredible charity, HopeForChildren!! πβ€οΈ
If you want to continue to show them your support over the final peak Mount Snowdon later this afternoon, then PLEASE show your support by liking, sharing, and most importantly, please donate to our Three Peaks page! ππ₯Ύ

The Three Peaks Team takes on BEN NEVIS! ππ
Roughly 9-10 months ago, 50 students began fundraising for HopeForChildren; and I am very excited to say that our UEA team is very excited to take on the Three Peaks Challenge! π€© After a long journey up to Glasgow, followed by a early bus ride this morning, our team is now currently ascending up the tallest peak in the UK! π₯Ύπ Following this, it will be a long journey down to Scafell Pike! π€
As Challenge Leaders, myself and George are incredibly proud of the whole team raising for such a fantastic charity! πβ€οΈ HopeForChildren work with children living in extreme poverty, providing them support through health and wellbeing, sustainable living and education.
If you would like to support the team and this fantastic cause, then please consider donating to our team page here where we are just shy of Β£25,000! π€ Alternatively, if you are a friend or family of one of our team-members, then please consider donating directly to their page to show your support! (It would be impractical to share everyone's page on this post π)

π Huge Congratulations to Erin Ketteridge, our new Student Fundraiser of the Year! π
Erin has grown so much since beginning her fundraising journey. She has truly thrown herself into the process, by continuously thinking up new and exciting ways to fundraise; from walking 100km in a month to bathing in baked beans, Erin has got seriously creative and done whatever it takes to raise money for us.
βMy time with Hope for Children has been amazing β I wasnβt sure how Iβd hit my fundraising total when I started, but with the support and inspiration of the charity Iβve been able to get creative and gain so much confidence and motivation! I canβt wait for our trek, and to stay in touch with Hope for Children for years to come!β
Thank-you to Erin and every single one of our amazing students who have gone the extra mile this year and helped us to support the communities where we work in very challenging circumstances, you should all be very proud!

The UEA Three Peaks group fundraiser (Big Team Challenge) finally finished on Wednesday! Unfortunately, the Three Peaks team was short of the 8,000km goal by about 1,000km! π
Despite this, we cannot be prouder of the people who took part! To travel 6,000km by walking and running in two months with everything going on in our daily lives is no small feat! πͺ πββοΈ π
But a few special shout-outs are in order!
Firstly, thank you to friends and family who jumped in towards the end to give us that extra push to get closer to our target (yous know who you are). π«
Secondly, to Andrew Fleet (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Andrew-FleetTPC) who has spent the last two months being overwhelmed by the lists of demands myself and George have made to produce the brilliant graphics depicting the team efforts! π π
A massive thank you to our activity leaders who really put the km in! In particular, James Bainbridge who ran 196km (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/james-bainbridge6?fbclid=IwAR0Gy33BHKZaKNbQTcMpe0tmD3QPr0GiUnj8pIkI4DSAYEeFbVv2GPdrvpw) in March/April AND Jessica Sparkes who walked 802km (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Jessica-Sparkes1) in March/April. These are incredible efforts and definitely deserve some applause and a donation! π π π£
Finally, thank you to everyone! It's lasted a while and although we didn't reach our 8,000km we hope everyone found it beneficial and we extremely appreciate you for taking part, liking, sharing and donating for this challenge! β€οΈ Leads as a good warm-up for some climbing I think π π

Our three peaks fundraiser Ellie Langlois has put in a fantastic and grueling effort to complete a half marathon after months of training!πββοΈ π― π¨
This is absolutely incredible and hopefully she can be rewarded by her fundraising target being hit within the next few days! She is only Β£32 away from the Β£680! π€ With just two days left until the fundraising deadline it would mean a lot for people to help her hit that target as a congratulations for the amazing effort she has put into her fundraising! π π
Not only has she completed a half marathon but also made a raffle π, completed a dry January (something I would find very tricky!)πΎ, and been incredibly active over social media with her fundraising!
