One on one time with students is important.
When I taught at SFAUC, our instructor to student ratio was approximately 1:7, with 6 cadre and 40 Green Berets. The one on one time Green Berets got with cadre were crucial to their personal development.
I don't know too many training companies with 6 instructors teaching at once however, if your instructor isn't giving you some time on the line, they're wrong. Sometimes they lose track but it's up to you as the student to get the most out of your money and time.
Teaching has many additionally implied tasks: assessing shooters, diagnosing their results and explaining why it happens through reverse engineering and making on the spot corrections with lots of reminders.
If you think about it, there aren't many differences between instructing and parenting. Both require instruction, supervision, corrections and constant reminders.

Imagine getting into a sticky situation and you have your woman there. Instead of her being a liability that you’ll have to protect, you know she’s just as capable as you are and she has your back if things go south. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to become super proficient at shooting, to learn some tactics. You don’t exactly need high speed running man CQB training, but start with some basics of force-on-force tactics:

1. Understanding the difference between hard cover vs cover (over-penetration). No one says concealment, unless you’re outdoors.

2. Spatial Awareness: getting off the X, utilizing what’s around you.

3. Basic flanking or maneuvering. Understanding how to possibly dictate your enemy’s actions or at least their movements.

4. Overcommitting (biting off more than you can chew) vs tactical patience (TP just means using better timing or advantageous moments).

5. Basic CQB structure assessment & takedown: understanding entry points and how to collapse sectors. Game of angles.

6. Shoot & move courses: No one stands still in a gun fight.

Tactics are so much more than just CQB or VCQB. It can make the difference in life threatening situations and would have made for better outcomes in a lot of viral shooting videos.

I love the NRA B8 targets. It’s a versatile target and underrated. I’ve used B8s for accuracy drills and ran them under speed and transitional drills. It can be a close up target or pushed back up to 50m with a pistol and further with a rifle. All around good multi-purpose score-able target.
