Nobody needs to be rich to want financial breathing room.
You can work full-time, pay your bills, and still struggle to handle an unexpected $1,500 expense. A car repair, medical bill, emergency home expense, or sudden increase in insurance can quickly disrupt an already-tight budget.
That’s why compensation matters.
A raise doesn't necessarily mean someone wants a bigger house, a luxury car, or an expensive lifestyle. It can mean having enough extra income to build an emergency fund, reduce debt, contribute to retirement, and handle unexpected expenses without immediately reaching for a credit card.
Financial security isn't about having everything.
Sometimes it's simply about having enough cushion that one unexpected bill doesn't derail your entire month.
Wanting higher income doesn't automatically mean wanting more luxury.
Sometimes people aren't asking for more stuff. They're asking for less financial stress.
