Join us for our second lecture of Public Health Roundtable!📝🩺

Presented by Monika Nayak, a Ph.D candidate in the Health Policy and Management department in the Fielding School of Public Health, she currently studies how varying state policy environments determine population-level sexual and reproductive health outcomes. Her work extends outside of public health through her current research role at UCLA Law at the Center on Reproductive Health, Law and Policy, where she studies the intersections of economic and reproductive justice policy interventions. She is also a data manager and leads the volunteer program at INeedAnA.com, a comprehensive online resource for abortion seekers and their loved ones. Her research is informed by her previous work experience studying public opinion as a political pollster and in narrative change and advocacy work supporting inclusive-sex education policy. Monika received her undergraduate degree from Boston University in Political Science with minors in Public Health and Statistics, and was born and raised in St. Louis, MO.

Introducing the new undergraduate speaker series – Public Health Roundtable📝

Our first lecture will be presented by Roxana Rezai, Ph.D, a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Epidemiology at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health. In her research, she applies epidemiological methods to behavioral interventions that focus on improving health outcomes and addressing health disparities among marginalized populations. She is particularly interested in mHealth and HIV among racial/ethnic minority and gender/sexual minority adolescent and young adults and examining how new technologies can be used as tools for uptake and adherence to antiretroviral medication for HIV treatment and prevention.
