Creating curriculum is one of my all time favorite things to do! What I love even more is thinking of creative sensory bins that can go along with themes, holidays, the weekly parsha etc. Here is an example of how learning can happen beyond the confines of circle time.
This week’s sensory base is fish tank rocks and the felt and wooden pieces are courtesy of
Happy Chanukka ✨

“The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, along with the insects on day number 5.” (Day One, Rabbi Mordecahi Dubin)
This week we explored ocean life which is one of the things that G-d created on day 5. We identified each sea creature, learning the difference between one’s that look very similar like the sea lion and walrus and just developing our language through conversation.
Here’s my all time favorite sensory bin filler with ocean life figurines.

Did you know that on the second day of creation, Hashem not only created the sky, but also all sorts of weather?! For this reason, when we were learning about day two of creation, a snowy wonderland was our sensory bin of the week.

Today was seven years in the making. All my life I enjoyed being around children and it seemed like the children always gravitated to me as well, but I never thought that it would one day become my profession. When I returned from my years in Israel, I was offered a job at a local Montessori preschool in Los Angeles, thinking that it would only be a one year gig till I figured out what I really wanted to do. Within a couple of months it became what I really wanted to do. I have learned so much and grown tremendously as a person over the years because of my career and I continue to learn more each day. I feel so honored to have the trust of each parent and child and I know this year will be my best year yet. Lastly, I would like to thank my husband for all the support he has shown me from the beginning of our relationship leading up to today, I wouldn’t have been able to be here today without you and your unwavering emotional and physical support of my dream, which is MONTESSORI TORAH ACADEMY.

Saw this quote by Barbara Johnson on .boys page. It resonated with me and I had to repost it here.
I remember, as a child, my parents made it a thing to have something I call “fruit time.” Most nights after dinner and for sure every Saturday afternoon after our Shabbat afternoon nap, we use to sit on our living room floor as a family together while my parents peeled and cut different seasonal fruits. They made delicious fruit platters for us to enjoy while playing different card games such as Rummy and Hokm together. A sweet memory I have from my childhood.

It’s so exciting to see my logo here and there and everywhere. A childhood friend helped me turn my ideas into a clean, sophisticated, fun and happy logo! These magnets from will be included into every welcome kit, which will start to be shipped out next week (MTA parents…get excited🤪!!!)
