Oil-free & Plantbased Dahi barhas!! One of my fav street foods for Ramadan Iftar!! Memories of Ghalib Market, hanging out with my mom n sis, eating these in our car!! But I baked these bad boys after soaking my moon n urad daals in water for 2 days, blended it with tiny bit of ginger, cumin, green chillies, salt and after baking soaked them in water and put them in my fav coconut and cashew yogurt with chaat masala, imli chutney, red chillies and lots of kachumar….mmmm so good and so nutritious

Taking oilfree and plantbased to the next level!! Dahi bhalas in Ramadan have been a staple in my household, but I didn’t have them until yesterday when I was able to make them oilfree and with my fav vegan yogurt !! It took me back to my childhood, sitting outside in the street with my mom, eating and enjoying!!
And yes that is a Dumpcake!! No oils, dairy or eggs!! It’s a cake from the time of the Great Depression when people did not have or could not afford the basics of life. With the egg shortage and inflation today, this cake will probably make a comeback!!

I’m really enjoying this simple Chia seed and Oats breakfast every morning. It’s cooling, packed with nutrients and flavor. It’s so simple to prep for the whole week!! A perfect meal prep recipe!
Recipe:
2 cups plant milk(I like soy for protein)
1 cup yogurt (I like Soy Vanilla unsweetened for protein)
1/4 cup organic chia seeds
1/4 cup organic quick oats
1 tablespoons of sugar free
Some blue berries
Optional items to add:
Nuts, seeds or extra fruits of choice
You can add a jam of your choice or to add sweetness you can add maple syrup/ sugar free maple syrup or just a sweetener of choice.
I also sometimes blend fresh strawberries with my milk before adding other ingredients to it.
