I really messed up.
I realized this week that people think CAMP Do Less is a productivity course and it's ... not.
It's the thing you need when you want out, but you have no energy to get out.
When your s**t is TURRIBLE and you know something needs to change, but you don't even have enough brain space to know what that change is... it gives you enough room to BREATHE and make a decision.
It super bums me out that folks who need help don't realize there's a solution for them, because I fell down on the job as a communicator.
So I'm doing a few things:
1- extending enrollment through next Friday Aug 29 so folks have a chance to hop in once they understand what it is

You are doing TOO MUCH.
Everybody, everywhere is doing entirely too damn much. I can feel it in the air and under my skin and it’s making me itchy.
“My boss doesn’t even know HALF of what I do!”
Girl WHY?
Why are you doing things your boss doesn’t know about? Why are you doing work you’re not getting credit for? Why are you doing SO MUCH?
To all my high achievers sick of bustin ass and not getting credit, I say this with all the love I can muster:
--> Just working a lot is not a strategy.
--> Working more, and being everything to everyone is NOT a strategy.
--> Being the office DOER that everyone can depend on is NOT a winning strategy.
If it worked … it would have worked.
You need a strategic approach to doing LESS that will help you thrive and rise, way faster than you are now.

💡 Toxic jobs don't target the weakest performers.
They target the strongest ones.
It's takes a different kind of person ... a see through the bulls**t, bottoms up, "what *actually* matters here?" kind of person to push through corporate malaise and capitalist norms for real results.
--> But the things that made them seek you out to begin with are the things they like least about you.
It's "you have a nose ring, and I've never heard of that band, and that shirt is loud and weird, and I've never heard of that book, and I can't put my finger on it but you just ... *smell* different."
It's "why can't you DO what we hired you to DO but use the same process and voice and thoughts as us?"
If you let them, they'll gaslight you into your grave. Working you to the bone and telling you it's still not enough.
And even after you leave, the Same. Exact. S**t. is going to happen until you heal your nervous system and you divorce yourself from the quest for approval from the white supremacist patriarchy.
Neither of these are theoretical, "think your way through it" exercises. There are specific steps to take to break yourself out of the cycle.

Your body knows.

Today's Sunday. So I'm canceling meetings.
One or two of them.
When I first started my "Say No Sundays" (pulling up next week's calendar and cutting the fluff) it was four to six:
The meeting where three people talk in circles for an hour.
The status update that somehow takes 90 minutes.
The coffee chat I said yes to out of guilt.
And the more I said no, the fewer times I had to say no. Built up a reputation that my time was valuable and theirs was too.
My reaction to this exercise is always the same:
My chest literally loosens when I see those blocks of time open up again. Like I can breathe.
Now it's your turn!
Even canceling one thing counts. One hour reclaimed for what actually matters to you.
