I was diagnosed with late stage cancer at 28. Thankfully, I was diagnosed before it was too late and I was able to beat it and now I’ve been cancer free for 6 years.
Here are 5 things I recommend you take care of to prevent yourself from ever facing this horrible disease:

1. Get quality sleep.
If your sleep quality sucks, your body will be in sympathetic nervous state and it’s impossible for your body to heal and recover in that state. One bad night of sleep here and there is ok. My sleep was terrible for a few years before I got diagnosed. That was definitely one of the factors that lead to cancer.

2. Take care of your mental health.
It’s okay not to feel okay but don’t let it be years in a row of not being ok. I hope you understand. Your physical body cannot thrive if you’re constantly suffering in your mind.

3. Be mindful of what you put in your body.
My diet prior to diagnosis was mostly trash. A lot of fast food and a lot of hyper processed s**t. I’ve experimented with many diets and now I just follow 80/20 rule. 80% of whole, real, nutritious foods and 20% can be dessert or some processed stuff. Cancer thrives in the surplus of calories too. That’s why I track my nutrition and practice intermittent fasting daily and occasionally do prolonged fasts.

4. Train like an athlete.
No exercise is bad. It will be easier for cancer to beat a weak body.
Exercise is good.
But I believe what’s even better than exercise is training to accomplish specific goals, track the progress and make sure the process is enjoyable.
You want your body to be resilient? You need to teach it resilience and I believe that takes smart training approach.

5. Meditate.
It’s been proven that your thoughts can make you sick. But the opposite is also true. For that reason I recommend you practice meditation to master control over your thoughts. You must train your focus and be able to direct where you put it. Because where awareness goes, energy flows, and if you can direct your energy onto the things that you want, you will attract those things. But if you can’t control your awareness, there’s a chance it will go places where you don’t want it to go…b

If you love what you do and that is making you better, you already won.

I guess two more things that I would mention that help me overcome bad days are:

1. Working out. It’s therapeutic, it helps relieve stress, it doesn’t allow you to become a victim of whatever situation you’re facing. It’s you showing up in the manner of “I’m still fighting, and even if I get knocked down I will get up.”

2. Gratitude. I promise you that no matter how bad your day is going, there’re always things and people that you can be grateful for in your life. Focus your attention on that. Shift your frequency from fear, worry, anxiety or whatever low frequency emotion you’re feeling to gratitude, which is one of the highest frequencies. I guarantee you’ll feel better and it will give you the fuel to persevere and power through your day and overcome negativity.
