The Mother Organizations Coalition is back with our annual MO Rock the Vote THIS MONDAY, April 25th from 5 to 7pm (on Zoom).

RSVP at bit.ly/MORockTheVote or click the link in our bio.

We invite all community members to come out and meet this year's candidates. There's just a week until
USAC voting begins.

WHAT'S ROCK THE VOTE? 🤔
MO Rock the Vote is an endorsement hearing held by the Mother Organizations (MO) Coalition and allies in order to facilitate our communities in meeting with
USAC candidates prior to elections. This
endorsement hearing is an opportunity for student leaders to address candidates about concerns specific to their communities, and for candidates to
hear directly from the MOs.

UCLA students are missing TWO MILLION DOLLARS paid to the school in student fees due to the Community Programs Office’s mismanagement and concealment of budgets. These fees are paid out of YOUR pockets to UCLA so that student-run projects under CPO can provide students from historically underprivileged groups with services that improve retention and quality of education. The CPO has provided budgets that are not itemized and lack detail, with no further information than “transportation” or “operating fees” as description for charges of thousands of dollars. When asked to provide itemized budgets, CPO administrators have delayed and dismissed concerns. We need to know where our money is going, and we have the right to demand that knowledge.

Stand with us this Thursday at 5PM at our town hall, Stepping Into Our Power!: A Celebration and Reclamation of Student Power. RSVP TODAY at the link in our bio, or at

Antonio Sandoval, the Director of UCLA’s Community Programs Office, and Thuy Huynh, his Chief of Staff and Associate Director, have THREE civil lawsuits against them due to their actions as UCLA administrators. They face allegations (from CPO employees?) of race- and gender-based discrimination and harassment in the workplace, failure to prevent such harassment, hostile work environment, and retaliation. These are all gross violations of the Fair Employment and Housing Act, which occurred and CONTINUE to occur under the rule of Antonio Sandoval at the CPO office on UCLA campus - OUR campus. The grounds upon which the lawsuits have been filed are only a few instances of what is a culture of suppression, discrimination, and fear tactics propagated at UCLA’s Community Programs Office. Join the Mother Organizations Coalition at our virtual town hall, Stepping Into Our Power!: A Celebration and Reclamation of Student Power this Thursday, January 27th, 2022 at 5-6:30PM PST via Zoom. RSVP TODAY at the link in our bio, or at bit.ly/steppingintoourpower.

Following the SIOC’s and the CRC’s actions against administrative disempowerment and harm in the Committees and their Centers and years of disillusionment, the Mother Organizations Coalition is now releasing its official demands to UCLA administration. We believe these demands will allow the Coalition, the SIOC, the CRC, and ALL students to continue to self-govern and determine the direction of student-run, student-initiated, and student-funded access and retention projects and initiatives.

Read the full demands and sign on to show your support at the links in our bio.

After more than a decade of division and disempowerment at the hands of the CPO, this past Fall Quarter the Campus Retention Committee undertook a radical reclamation of their roots and origin from the Mother Organizations Coalition and actively stood in solidarity with them in their fight against administrative oversight in student-initiated, student-run, and student-funded spaces. After countless years of USAC questioning CPO, Committee requests for greater budget transparency from the CPO, and constant grievances from the student body over missing student fees, students have decided to take power into their own hands. This is our collective money, to be distributed according to how we see fit, the CRC will make sure that promise is met.

After more than a decade of division and disempowerment at the hands of the CPO, this past Fall Quarter the SIOC and the CRC undertook a radical reclamation of their roots within the Mother Organizations Coalition (MO) and stood in solidarity with them in their fight against administrative oversight in student-initiated, student-run, and student-funded spaces. For the first time in their history, the Committees officially declare that they have no confidence in the CPO as the administrative designee that houses them and their MO-sponsored projects.

This Memorandum, alongside the Committee’s vote to unpermanetize more than $2 million dollars in student-paid Committee funds, represent the first of many steps for the SIOC and the CRC to return to its student-run and student-initiated origins, and to ensure student power is never again harmed by Antonio Sandoval, the CPO, or any administrator in the university.
