It was my sister's first time in the city so naturally I had to document the trip. We spent most of our time running around the and hanging out at Pier 39. At the end, she said she loved the city but hated all the walking. She still a city slicker in training. Anyways, here's some pics from the museum.

In June, over 20 Black artists responded to a request by owners to transform the boards that were put up to protect their business. Artist Seraiah Nichole , in the first photo, says she chose to paint comic book Black women superheroes characters such as X-Men’s Storm because they're a great representation of strong, powerful and beautiful Black women.
In the second photo, artist Chloe Borders , says her art piece expresses how we all can live in harmony and work together to make the world a better place.

I'm so grateful that allowed me to photograph them as they made black heart-shaped donughts for National Doughnut Day. All the proceeds from the heart-shaped doughnuts went to the Black Youth Leadership Project, a Sacramento-based nonprofit that aims to educate black students to become civically engaged and future policy leaders. They raised over 1,200 for the organization. Check out my essay in this month's .

While I was documenting yesterday's demonstration, I noticed several people handing eachother masks, sanitizer, snacks and water. People were offering complete strangers rides to their vehicles to make sure they were safe.It was a beautiful thing to witness the community coming together.
