We’re continuing our summer camp spotlight posts — we’re sharing Those Who Wander: Further Exploration🌲🔥🪓

This week is for the camper who wants more challenge, more hands-on outdoor learning, and more chances to build real skill through practice and exploration.

Those Who Wander: Further Exploration | June 29–July 3 | 9am to 1pm
Camp will be held at 332 Palms Estate Rd. Lorida FL 33857

Campers will work on:
🪢 more advanced knots
🔥 primitive fire-making methods
🪓 safe use of basic tools
🏕 more advanced shelter building
🌿 animal and plant identification and tracking

This week is active, practical, and full of the kind of learning that sticks with kids long after summer ends.

We highly encourage families to consider both Those Who Wander weeks whenever possible. Even campers with some experience benefit so much from reviewing the essentials before moving into deeper skills.

Families may register for the individual weeks that work best for their schedule or for the full 6-week summer program. Each week is a new adventure!

We are working on a brand new summer experience for L.E.A.R.N. — and we’re almost ready to share it with you!

Here’s a little sneak peek of what’s coming:

Those who wander class this past Monday. We continued navigation courses using compasses. Navigation using plotted bearings and headings. On the prior Saturday we worked on this in the pinewood forest. Fun times.

At L.E.A.R.N. Collaborative, learning happens through experience.

Those Who Wander introduces students to wilderness survival, bushcraft, and wildlife ecology through hands-on, guided outdoor learning.

Sessions are led by experienced instructors who bring real-world knowledge and a deep respect for nature into every lesson, helping students learn not just what to do, but why it matters.

Programs are offered in Lorida and serve families throughout Highlands County. Homeschool, after school and adult programs offered.

Those Who Wander is a hands-on wilderness skills and practical arts program built around real experience, real responsibility, and real confidence.

This is not a camp.

We teach participants how to move through the natural world with awareness, skill, and respect. From the Florida woods and swamps to open trails and wetlands, every lesson is designed to build competence, calm decision-making, and self-reliance.
