Cheerleading has always been something I have always loved and enjoyed. It built up my confidence and my sef-esteem. But wearing the uniform and actually putting the uniform to good use are two different things. A cheerleader wears the uniform with pride and is not ashame to say they are proud to be a leader of their school and their community. Cheerleading is like any other sport...how far do you want to take it? How dedicated are you to succeed? What do want to make of it? Our Lorenzo Hornet Cheerleaders have taken their leadership to the limit and have broken barriers. All it took was some reassurance, confidence and some self-motivation to say "we got this!" Girls...you all did a fantastic job for this 2015 football season...along with the awesome pep rallies you put together! Continue to make memories in cheerleading...and don't let anybody tell you different...confidence is the key. Hold your head up high and take pride in what you do. Love you girls!

I don't even know where to begin...your Lorenzo Hornet cheerleaders have done it again! They succeeded in an event that is one of the most important yet memorable pep rally a school can ever have. Pink out pep rallies are a form of unity in a community. We recognize those who have battled, lost and are still struggling with the disease and remind them that they are not alone. Hornet cheerleaders, you sure do make us proud! I see you cheer and I cannot help but smile and tell myself "I am proud to be a Hornet!" Thank you for continuing to fulfill your duties. I love you girls from the bottom of my heart! You all are doing a tremendous job! I also want to thank Gladys Salinas, Angela Moreno, Amber Stark, Jr high and HS students for their help in decorating. Thank you Delia Quintana and Booster Club for providing the flowers. Thank you Amy Cisneros for buying items the girls needed...and if I missed anybody I apologize...but thank you!!! I especially want to thank my husband, Andrew Salas, for providing his music equipment!! It is awesome to know we live in a great community! Remember "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13 GO HORNETS!!!

Friday, October 23rd, is our Pink Out Pep Rally in the high school gym at 3:00pm. We are inviting all survivors and family members who have lost a loved one to breast cancer to attend the pep rally to be recognized. Although we all know October is breast cancer month, we would also like to recognize survivors and family members who have lost a loved one in our community that have battled other types of cancer at the pep rally as well. Hello Hornet fans!! I would like to brag a little on these girls. They are awesome! Their spirit has built up since they first started and has continued to increase ever since. I want to thank the cheer girls for working so hard. I may not say it all the time and I may be nagging 😊 for the mistakes you are making at times during cheer practice, but I told each and everyone of you, since day one, that you do your best and respect yourself at all times. You are the spirit of our community...and you all have done an incredible job in doing so! Your spirit has trickled down to the younger girls (including my daughters) and again that is incredible! Thanks to all of the parents for raising such awesome daughters. Cheerleaders...continue your great work and remember keep God in your heart. Thanks to the community for all of the support you have provided. GO HORNETS!!!

Lorenzo Homecoming week was GREAT!! Our Lorenzo Football team did an outstanding job defeating the Loop Longhorns last night! I just want to take the time to thank the Lorenzo Cheerleaders for their dedication...you girls are the foundation of our school spirit. It starts from within and when you give it all you you got then everything else falls into place. I know cheering is not an easy sport...it takes time and effort to make it happen...but at the end it is all worth it! I would like to thank Jesse Maldonado from Jesse's Auto Shop for making our brisket plate sale such a success! I also want to thank the cheer parents who helped make it happen...I especially want to thank my husband, Andrew, for working so hard to make our cheerleaders succeed! Thanks to Gladys Salinas, Angela Moreno and Amber Stark for being there for us at all times. It means a lot to know our community comes together to make things happen. It was a great success and with God willing we will continue to have a great school year! "We can do all things through Him who strengthens me". Philippians 4:13 This bible verse has carried me a very long way. I will continue to use this verse until the very end...God Bless! GO HORNETS!!!!!!!!

Hello Lorenzo Hornet fans! We have had a great Homecoming spirit week so far! Just a reminder, tomorrow is hippie day and Friday is nifty fifties...just remember, Friday morning is also picture day. You can send the fifties outfit so they can change into after taking their pictures. We will have the pep rally on Friday at 3:00 pm outside at the football stadium. One more thing...I want to clarify there is not going to be a homecoming dance, bomb fire nor a parade. Just want to make sure we are all on the same page! :) Come out on Friday at 7:00pm for the crowning of the Homecoming Queen and King followed by the football game against Loop! One more thing...Cheerleaders are selling brisket plates from 11-6...so enjoy a brisket plate before heading to the game! GO HORNETS!!!!

Hello everyone! The cheerleaders are selling brisket sandwich plates this Friday, September 18th from 11am-6:00pm at Jesse's Body Shop located on 6th and Polk Street in Lorenzo. The plate will consist of a brisket sandwich, potato salad, beans and a drink for $8.00. This is to help raise money for the cheerleaders. The cheerleaders have pre-order forms if you are interested in purchasing a plate. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call, text or message me...thanks for your support!! The Lorenzo Tackle Football team had their first game in Tulia and of course a football team is not complete if you do not have cheerleaders! These gals did AWESOME!!! It's great to see our younger generation supporting their team! Big thanks goes out to Amy Cisneros and Marissa Davis for dedicating themselves to these young ladies!! GO HORNETS!!!!!
