⚾ Stomper Reading Challenge Celebration ⚾

Prize packs for our Stomper Reading Challenge winners are heading home this week.

Students who reached the HOME RUN level also earned a special trip to the Lake Erie Crushers game on May 28 at Forefront Field.

Parents will be notified by a flyer sent home and in Class Dojo.

HOME RUN readers will enjoy:
🎟️ A Crushers game ticket
⚾ A pre-game parade around the field
🍿 A free snack during the game

Parents: Please arrive by 5:30 PM for parade participation.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.

We are proud of all of our readers and can’t wait to celebrate their hard work at the ballpark.

We've been watching the weather, and it's looking clear for Sunday. ☀️

We're kicking off Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week in a new way this year. We need your help! Join us for Sidewalks of Appreciation on Sunday, May 3, from 3–5 p.m. at every Lorain school. We are proud to host the Read and Rise program here at Garfield Elementary—an initiative that goes beyond literacy, reminding us that when we pour into those who nurture others, entire families and futures are transformed.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to American Legion Post 30 for their generosity in providing dinner at the end of each program session for every family in attendance. Your support helps make this experience even more meaningful for our families!

Together, we are building stronger readers, stronger families, and a stronger community. 📚✨

📣💰 Money Wars Are Back! 💰📣

1…2…3…4… we declare a Money War!

From March 10th – March 27th, students at Garfield Elementary will battle it out in our annual Money Wars fundraiser! 🏆

Here’s how it works:
• Pennies & dollar bills add points to your class.
• Silver coins can be used to sabotage other classes by subtracting points.
• The class with the most points wins bragging rights AND a pizza party! 🍕🎉

Time to start checking those couch cushions, cup holders, and piggy banks! Every coin counts and helps support our school.

Let the Money Wars begin!
