This team worked diligently to rescue one of their tools from the ice - and felt amazing when they succeeded!
Was their plan something any of the adults would have created?
Nope!
Did it work?
Amazingly so ♥️

🌲 Calling All Families with Tweens & Teens (Ages 12+)! 🌲
Do you have a child who craves time outdoors—unplugged from screens and plugged into real adventure?
WILD Child is looking for families to join our Wednesday crew for an unforgettable year of tech-free, nature-rich connection!
Together, we’ll hike, explore, build, climb, and play—all while diving into hands-on science units, learning from special guest speakers, and embracing risky play in the great outdoors.
This isn’t a drop-off program. Parents stay, connect, and grow in community with one another—because nature is good for us too.
We’re currently accepting applications to find the right families for our close-knit community—families who value curiosity, collaboration, and connection as much as we do.

⚔️🌲 The Hidden Benefits of Outdoor Battle Games 🌲🏹
When kids engage in outdoor war/battle games—whether it’s foam swords, stick battles, or strategic team play—they’re doing way more than just burning energy. These games build critical life skills in a hands-on, engaging way! Here’s what they’re learning:
🧠 Academics in Action
History & Strategy: Many battle games reflect real historical tactics, fostering curiosity about the past.
Math & Physics: Estimating distances, angles, and speed in real-time improves spatial reasoning.
💡 Executive Functioning Skills
Planning & Strategy: Deciding when to attack, retreat, or defend sharpens decision-making.
Impulse Control: Learning to follow the rules and play fair, even in the heat of the moment.
Teamwork & Leadership: Taking on roles, giving directions, and working as a unit.
🏃♂️ Kinesthetic Development
Gross Motor Skills: Running, dodging, and maneuvering through terrain builds agility.
Hand-Eye Coordination: Blocking, aiming, and reacting quickly to movement.
Resilience: Getting "tagged out" and bouncing back fosters emotional regulation and perseverance.
Outdoor battle games aren’t about competition; they’re about creativity, problem-solving, and connection. Plus, let’s be honest—few things feel as epic as a well-timed battle cry! ⚔️🔥
