Unfortunately, for some families, this basic necessity of infancy ends in tragedy — their babies never wake up. They fall victim to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) or Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID)
. Despite how far research and medicine have progressed, we are still losing far too many babies each year. In the State of New Jersey alone, hundreds of families have been impacted by SIDS & SUID. Across the United States, thousands of young lives are lost each year. At this event, hundreds of parents will join together to celebrate the lives of their babies that were taken away from them too soon. Please join us in supporting these families and show your community how much you care! Strides for Babies NJ 5K Run/Walk is organized by SIDS/SUID parents and supported by the SIDS Center of New Jersey (SCNJ) through education and volunteerism. SCNJ is a statewide program that provides bereavement support and case-management for bereaved families, educates the public, and participates in ongoing research efforts.
