Team Lightning 12272 is a student robotics team that builds and programs robots to compete in competitions. At the Mississippi FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship, our team made it to the Finals and won the Design Award. Because of this, our team qualified for the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship in Houston, where the best robotics teams from around the world compete. This is the first time a team from our program has ever made it to Worlds. We need to raise $10,000 to help cover the cost of registration, travel, hotels, meals, and other expenses for the trip. All collected products will be available at our competitions to ensure access for anyone who needs them. At the end of the season, any remaining supplies will be donated to women’s shelters, homeless shelters, and local community drivers. Quick appreciation post and congratulations for Magnolia regional volunteer of the year to our ever present head ref Brandon Boyd! He goes out of his way to make sure every FIRST event in Mississippi has all of the equipment it needs to be at the highest quality! Without him many of our events would still be scrambling to work off of old classroom projectors and karaoke machines. Not only does he provide his own equipment, but he spends countless hours setting up and tuning this equipment as well as coordinating the live stream and event photography all while acting as the states head referee.

Without Brandon there would be almost no imagery or match footage for so many of the teams in our community and for everything he does we can't thank him enough!
